Spectacularly situated beneath the majestic Matterhorn, Zermatt has everything to offer in the way of fantastic skiing, picturesque surroundings and a lively nightlife. On arrival by train from the village of Tasch, you will find the vibrant village centre entirely car free and with only electric taxis and horse drawn sleighs and streets packed with beautiful shops and boutiques. Zermatt's three ski areas all soar to at least 3100m (10,200ft) and boasts the highest ski lift in Europe - The Klein Matterhorn (Gobba di Rollin) at 3 820m.
